Making a Purchase:

Making an online order with Pearsons of Duns is fast and simple.  Simply add a minimum of £25 worth of solid fuel products to the shopping basket and complete checkout by clicking on your shopping basket when you have everything you need.  There are on-screen instructions throughout the checkout.

Smokeless Zones:

Smoke control areas have been introduced in many large towns and cities in the UK, the smoke control areas we deliver to are Edinburgh and Galashiels.  Local Authorities are responsible for designation and supervision of Smoke Control Areas.

To find out if you are located in a smoke control area, it is recommended that you contact the Environmental Health or Protection department of your Local Authority.  Contact details for your Local Authority can be found here:



Coal deliveries are based on a fortnightly rota, if you know your delivery date; please order by 2pm the day before to ensure delivery.

Please note that fuel is tipped out of bags upon delivery. If you require Solid Fuel to be delivered in bags please state ‘keep in bags’ in the notes to seller facility of the checkout.

Making a Payment:

Our secure online payment system is provided by Paypal.  You can sign up for a PayPal account please follow this link.

Once checkout has been complete, your order will be processed.  You will receive a confirmation email from Pearsons of Duns which will confirm your order and state when your item(s) will be delivered.


Our deliveries are based on a fortnightly rota within a 50 mile radius of our store in Duns, if you think you are outwith our current delivery area please call 01361 882277 to discuss adding your address to our delivery route.

Pearsons of Duns accepts no liability for unfulfillment of online orders where orders are placed outwith our delivery area which is clearly stated.

Our driver will deliver and empty bags into your coal bunker or other storage device at the address provided at the checkout.  Please advise us of any special requirements on finding your address or storage device.  If our deliveryman is unable to access your address, we will return your order to our premises.

VAT for domestic UK deliveries is 5% and is included in your order.

Complaints Policy:

Here at Pearsons we try our best to provide an excellent service for all our customers whether at the Tills, online or over the phone – but if you have a complaint we want to know about it, after all we’re here and happy to help.

We hope that you’re pleased with any purchase you’ve made or service you have received from Pearsons, and that you’ll never have reason to complain – but if there’s something you’re not happy with, we’d like you to tell the relevant Pearsons Department about it so that we can try to put matters right and continue to improve.
